Administrative inquiry or action research is simple, it’s an effective method of problem solving collaboratively, through continuing of action and reflection. This form of research is best if you want to be a part of the community of research. It’s engaging and though might seem time consuming; it will eventually put other things into perspective making better outcomes. Action Research helps one gain insights about themselves and their practices and if used appropriately assists with student learning and teacher lessons. It brings about transformations by planning, creating action, continuous observation and delivers the importance of reflection. Action research is mainly in an educational setting. It usually is to deal with increasing student achievement. Each and every year schools across the world are dealing with action researches that are situations personal to their campuses. There are steps to action research the most important step is to self-reflect on what is needed to be done on your campus. It involves taking the time to gather the information and data needed and then again reflecting about the outcomes and decisions to be made.

I will be able to use action research to help me be a better teacher in my field of math. Students are changing every year and classroom lecture and deliver should change also. Action research will help me come up with more engaging lessons and activities to assist with student achievement. Action research also will help with my research development for my internship. I can use this method of research to see what are my true principles and what I really want change in.

  1. One thing that I was excited to learn about the action research is that it can be team based. Meaning that you can form a research team/group that has a common research interest with you and with this collabortive team you can gain a lot of data and information that will directly or indirectly increase your student performance. I also understand how action research can help me become a better teacher and eventually a great school leader.
